Vodafone are money grabbing bastards! Vodafone have been ripping me off for months and there appears to be nothing that I can do about it! When I took out my contract I was told that there was a special offer on insurance - a £7.50 one-off payment for the life of the contract...this turned out to be a lie - the salesman lied to me about this to get me to sign up for insurance.
I was attracted to Vodafoen because they were offering the Vodafone passport deal, meaning that you can take your home contract abroad with you for just 75p connection charge. What a load of rubbish! I took out an 18 month contract because I was promised the 'stop the clock' deal which means that you get an hour's worth of talk time after 3 minutes - this was also crap! The salesman was fully aware that I woudl often be using my phone abroad during the first few months of the contract but did not tell me that I would not be able to use the 'stop the clock' offer abroad.
I have had calls charged to me to numbers that I don't know and my billing information has often been incorrect. When I spoke to Vodafone about my bills (which were being charged at about £120 per month when I was very rarely even using the phone) they told me initially that there was probably a problem in the billing department and that they would look into my bills and call me back but nobody ever called and I assumed that the bills would be sorted.
When another extortionately expensive bill arrived I phoned Vodafone again and had to spend ages on the phone before a manager eventaully called me back. I was promised a refund of approximately £100 as a "goodwill" gesture. Goodwill would have been to give back a more substantial amount of the money that you have taken from me you thieving, greedy gits!
After arguing that Vodafone should honour what their salespeople promise customers I eventaully (albeit grudgingly) accepted the offer of a £100 "goodwill" payment to be credited to my Vodafone account. As yet (2 months on) this money has not been credited back to me and I am getting more and more pissed off with this horrible company and their appaling customer care!
DO NOT get a contract with them - they will rip you off left, right and centre! I am a student and have got into real debt problems because of Vodafone and their greedy overcharging! DO NOT believe a word that their salespeople tell you and make sure you read their contracts really thoroughly.
